LITURGICAL SCHEDULE

CHRIST IS RISEN!

Blessed Pascha season to all of you!

Join us for our weekly Liturgies to deepen your faith and connect more with the church community.

Divine Liturgy:

Sunday at 10:00 am;

Thursday (except during Great Fast or when cancelled) at 9:30 am.

Divine Liturgy on Holy Days:

Weekday at 7:00 pm;

Saturday at 10:00 am.

Matins: Sunday at 9:30am.

Vespers: Tuesday (except during Great Fast or when cancelled) at 7:00 pm. 

Reconciliation/Confession: 30 minutes before/after each service or by appointment.

Вечірня: вівторок (крім під чaс Великого посту aбо коли скaсовaно) о 19:00. ​

 

Сповідь: за 30 хвилин до/після кожної служби або за попереднім записом.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH

St. Sophia Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is a parish of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Chicago, which is part of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC). UGCC is in full and visible communion with the See of Rome. With more than 5.5 million faithful, it is the largest of all twenty-three Eastern Catholic Churches in the global Catholic community, second in number only to the Latin (Roman Catholic) Rite Church.

The UGCC is headed by the Major Archbishop of Kyiv and Halych, His Beatitude Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk).

Our parish has a rich history and tradition of serving the  community of faithful in DFW metroplex. As part of the ancient Church of Kyiv, St. Sophia Parish strives to preserve its Byzantine liturgical, theological, and spiritual heritage.

Please continue to pray for peace in Ukraine, for the end of war, for our sister churches and clergy, safety of people, and especially for all those who defend country against russian aggression.

 

May the Lord Bless those who during Great Fats and Holy Week assisted with the many things which needed to be done (cleaning, singing, serving, decorating, cooking, etc). Your hard work, dedication of time, and offerings are greatly appreciated!

Easter Flowers: remember to take home flowers that you have purchased.  

Important notice!!! Fr. Pavlo will be celebrating Divine Liturgy in Austin next Sunday. Fr. Frank will be the main celebrant at St. Sophia. 

SHARE 2024: We need the support of the entire parish community. I ask you to prayerfully consider contributing to the Share 2024. Your monetary gifts will ensure the success of the effort of the entire parish. Please know that your donation, no matter the size, will have a positive impact on the entire parish and Eparchy. 

Parish Catechism: Next class is on Sun., Apr. 21. All are welcome to stay for the class!

SERVICES

St. Sophia Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church offers a variety of liturgical services throughout the year, including weekly Liturgies, Liturgies on solemn feast days and holy days of obligation, Vespers and Matins. 

Baptism, Chrismation, and Eucharist: Please notify the pastor when a child is born so that dates for the proper prayers and blessings, other than baptism, can be arranged. Call the pastor at 972-370-4700 to make arrangements.

Marriage: Please notify the pastor at least six months before the anticipated date to allow for adequate preparation for this lifetime commitment.

Visiting the Sick: Please notify the pastor at 972 370 4700 if a family member is in the hospital or unable to attend services due to illness and would like a visit. It is the responsibility of the immediate family to notify the pastor.

Funerals: Please Contact the parish office at 972 370 4700 before making arrangements with the funeral director.
